Abstract:

Compared with other surgical fields, surgical robotics is relatively new to spine surgery. With the development of cervical spine surgery techniques, minimally invasive techniques are being increasingly adopted for their advantages of less trauma and faster recovery, but at the same time bring more exposure to radiation. The orthopaedic surgical robot allows for intraoperative navigation and assisted nail placement, reducing operator expo⁃ sure to radiation and improving nail placement accuracy and safety. In recent years, the acceptance of orthopaedic surgical robots has increased and their clinical use has grown. This article reviews the progress of orthopaedic surgi⁃ cal robots in cervical spine surgery, analyses existing research on orthopaedic surgical robotic ⁃ assisted cervical spine surgery, summarises the application and efficacy of robotic technology, and discusses the future direction of development.
